Indian Food

Indian food is based on the Ayurvedic principles: a form of cooking that is holistic which evolved in India around 2000 B.C. This concept endorses the idea that everything that we eat affects our minds as well as our bodies, so it should be pure, natural and balanced, thus balancing the 6 flavours: Sweet, Bittersweet, Savoury, Bitter, Pungent and Astringent.

Indian food includes a large variety of regional Indian dishes, that have evolved due to the diverse religions in India: Hinduism, Buddism, Christianity and Islam.

Despite these apparent differences, Indian food possesses common ingredients: THE SPICES, which play an important role in this gastronomy.  Needless to say, the various cultures that have interacted with the subcontinent have left their mark with a diverse incomparable array of flavours and aromas.
